SUNRISE at Hacienda San Joaquin

SUNRISE adds a new dimension to our ranch, Hacienda San Joaquin. It includes 25 mostly hillside home sites, a mountain-top hotel with 60 guest villas, and a riverfront health spa.

The panoramic views from Sunrise are breathtaking. They include the sun rising over the mountain ranges to our east. Many of the 25 hillside properties have some of the most spectacular views in Vilcabamba. Each home site varies in size, orientation, vegetation and view. All roads are well-lit and paved. All home sites are provided with access to electricity, internet and excellent water from our wells.

The hotel, aptly named "Sunrise at Hacienda San Joaquin", is an elegant two-story structure. The views from the hotel site almost defy description. We refer to it as "the eighth wonder of the world." The architecture is typically upscale Ecuadorian hacienda: warm woods, traditional columns, exposed beam ceilings, barrel tile roofs, granite counter tops, and beautiful ceramic and wood floors. The hotel features a variety of dining areas, porches, balconies, a large subterranean wine cellar/lounge (shown under construction in the photos), second floor lounge, grand piano and dance floor, two residential suites, several large and connected meeting rooms, and a modern and highly functional business center.

The hotel is connected, by our hiking and horseback riding trails, to our Equestrian and Hiking Center in the western part of Hacienda San Joaquin. Now under construction, the hotel is scheduled to open in the latter part of 2009.

The 60 beautiful two-bedroom, two-bath villas feature architecture similar in style and quality to the hotel. Each features living, dining, entertainment, study, full kitchens and laundries, skylights and porches. The views from these villas, like those from the hotel, are truly amazing. The villas are approximately 1,500 square feet.

The villas, turnkey and beautifully finished and furnished, are offered for purchase in our revenue-sharing plan. Revenues are shared 50-50 with the hotel, which will manage and maintain the villas.

Our health spa at Sunrise will feature a mix of modalities: massage, facials, jacuzzi, therapeutic, exercise, meditation, yoga and the like. Scheduled completion date for the spa is 2010.
